The CRM team at Secret Escapes is looking for a proactive Junior Marketing Automation Developer to assist with the further ambitious development of new ideas and optimisation of our recent successes. CRM is a vital and well-respected part of the marketing mix at Secret Escapes. You will be joining a talented team that ensures we successfully create, deliver and report on all our high-quality email and push marketing campaigns.

About the role
In this junior position, you’ll be working with the Senior Developer making up the technical side of the CRM team.
Your daily responsibilities will include gathering requirements, documenting processes, impromptu code fixing, helping provide scalable solutions and implementing new marketing initiatives within the Secret Escapes’ Iterable instance.
You will play an integral role in accelerating our development roadmap and customer-first approach to multi-channel marketing.
This role is a really exciting opportunity to begin your Marketing Automation career using Iterable, our Marketing Automation platform. You’ll be given the opportunity to learn how to master the platform, with excellent ongoing support from our dedicated Iterable Account managers.
Things you’ll be working on
- Maintaining our full suite of automated multi-channel marketing campaigns and journeys across 8 different territories
- Partnering with our in-house team of HTML email developers to create an impactful and easy to use content portfolio, that allows the CRM team to produce best-in-class emails
- Providing technical support to other members of the wider team.

If you have CRM or Marketing experience with some background knowledge of email HTML/CSS, or are you an email developer looking to expand their remit, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Must have:
- An understanding of automated marketing campaigns
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS in relation to email
- Experience in working with data - from creating segments to scoping data requirements for new campaigns and solutions
- Competency with testing and quality analysis procedures for new campaigns and initiatives
- Debugging experience, with the ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
- Experience in analysing and optimising campaigns
Nice to have:
- Experienced with HTML/CSS for email
- Experience with a Marketing Automation platform (Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Pardot, Selligent etc)
- Experience with creating data driven messages using dynamic coding languages (i.e. AMPScript, Handlebars.js)

Whilst different CRM team members are focused on individual territories and activities, we all come together as a CRM team to work on shared strategic projects for at least one day a week. This collaboration is critical to our culture, shared progress and excellent team spirit.
Most of our CRM team sit in London, so we would love to have you here with us, so we can bounce ideas off each other in person.
