Phlux designs and supplies the world’s highest performing SWIR detectors and receivers based on our groundbreaking material development that will be at the heart of advanced driver safety features using LIDAR, ultra-fast low latency communication networks, and seeing the invisible with 3D imaging.
Phlux is a revenue-generating company with a team of 21 skilled professionals spanning operations, sales and marketing, engineering, semiconductor devices, and finance.
Following a $12M Series A funding round Phlux is now scaling rapidly and seeking passionate individuals to join our innovative team. Our mission is to lead the “opticalization” of the communications and sensing industries for decades to come.
The Role:
The successful applicant will join our Sheffield based team as we ramp production and Sales Channels on our exciting and disruptive device technology. Our product is the best and we want our customer experience to be the same. This is role would suit a confident and outgoing individual who must be committed to proactively ensuring customer service excellence. If desired and qualified, they may also wish to use the experience gained within this internal sales support role to embark on a pathway to a Technical Sales role within a Photonics Company that has a truly unique product that is highly sought after.
Responsibilities:
Interacting with customers, distributors and colleagues in Operations, under the remote guidance and support of the Head of Sales you will be required to:
We work 37.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday, although contracted hours can be adjusted to accommodate persons with additional needs or commitments
The candidate will be required to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days per week at our office in Sheffield.

Responsibilities:
Interacting with customers, distributors and colleagues in Operations, under the remote guidance and support of the Head of Sales you will be required to:
- Manage contacts and prospects onto CRM database.
- Respond to Sales enquiries by providing quotations, advising on lead times and confirming delivery dates for orders placed.
- Manage and enhance the Phlux experience for designated clients and Distributors from enquiry to invoice and delivery.
- Provide input to Sales Forecasts for accounts under your responsibility.
- Assist in hitting Sales Targets and applicable Company Objectives.
- Follow up quotations issued and Enter Sample and Sales Orders
- Liaise with other departments to ensure On Time Deliveries are made.
- At times of urgency you may assist the Supply Chain Team in picking, checking and packing of goods prior to shipments
- Check all deliveries are transacted according to Phlux and customer needs.
- To assist as directed out with the above tasks when requested by your manager.
- Experience in a B2B customer facing role via email, phone and online meetings where professionalism and service standards count.
- A technical qualification (vocational or academic) is an optional extra, but not essential as a ‘can do’ attitude in ensuring responsive service is the vital trait we are seeking.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- A good understand of how a business executes its transactions and Communications from early CRM engagement through the Sales cycle, shipping internationally and the receivables process.
