Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, plus generous options

Level: Junior level

Reporting line: Chief Commercial Officer

The market for consumer spend data is evolving rapidly and we now want to welcome a Business Development (BD) Executive who will help us unlock new revenue streams from leading companies in financial services and consumer verticals and also help to nurture our current client relationships.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will help us identify and convert new sales opportunities and ensure current client success.

The sales are complex and high value, so to succeed in the role you’ll need to possess strong drive, high commercial acumen, and a natural ability to collaborate with others to deliver the best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales opportunity prospecting – identifying, qualifying, and delivering tailored outreach to potential clients to secure new opportunities
  • Research target geographies, demonstrating an expert understanding of the finance sector and local economies, as well as Fable client needs. Present findings and recommend data-sourcing opportunities
  • Manage lead generation through research and collaboration, including identification of key contacts in each market
  • Run new sales campaigns utilising multiple lead generation software tools.
  • Maintain CRM for sales, ensuring all entries are up to date and generating reports
  • Provide excellent relationship management, for both contracted and prospective clients
  • Support the creation of partner collateral and presentations, using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and online tools.
  • Join calls and meetings, and manage stakeholder diaries
  • Support internal projects related to marketing and reporting to aid future growth

Essential skills and experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in business development or partnerships roles or at a data or tech company, or an analytics-driven organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Numerical, financial, research and analytical skills
  • IT skills utilising Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to build credible relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities within tight timeframes
  • Fluent in English. An additional language (French, German, Spanish, Japanese) is highly welcomed
  • Must be comfortable and able to travel regularly across the EU and to the US in the future
  • Ability to dive into complex client contracts

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience of B2B data or tech partnership sales, ideally in financial services
  • Good knowledge of the Finance sector, in the UK and globally
  • Demonstrable interest in economics and data analytics/productization
  • Demonstrable success in lead-gen activities and building pipeline
  • Adept at learning and being able to effectively use information systems (Salesforce and others)
  • An entrepreneurial spirit is needed to identify opportunities and new potential datasets, combined with patience as the process can take a long time
