The Operations Control Manager is responsible for management oversight of the day-today functioning and performance of Operations Control. The purpose of Operations Control is to define and maintain a framework for the Operations department which ensures that risks and control deficiencies are continuously identified, assessed, mitigated and remediated in a timely and transparent manner in line with the Vitesse's risk and control frameworks.

With now over 160 employees across Europe and our London headquarters, $26m series B funding in 2022 in the bag and approaching £8bn in processed transactions, we are only just getting started.

The role will include but not limited to:
- Defining and implementing processes to identify and manage risks within the Operations including operational risks and conduct risks;
- Implementing processes which successfully detect control failures within or relating to the Operations;
- Performing and acting on root cause analysis;
- Performing spot checks and reviews to ensure the Operations control framework is reliable and robust;
- Lead a forward-looking and proactive quality assurance programme;
- Providing meaningful risk and control reporting for the Chief Operating Officer, Senior Operations Leaders and Vitesse Risk and Regulatory control.
Function & stakeholder
- Ensuring that Operations Control works collaboratively with other departments / teams across Vitesse, particularly contributing to company wide risk or control initiatives/projects
- Contributing to the Operations input into Product change.
- Ensuring the effective and efficient operation of processes across Operations.
- Taking proactive steps to optimise processes within Operations on a continuous basis as a result of incident analysis.
- Ensuring that control processes are accurately captured in written procedures and that these procedures and continuously updated.
- Providing support and oversight of Operations teams to ensure that change is effectively embedded in the Operations department
- Identifying and managing risks within Operations department including operational risks and conduct risks.
- Undertaking regular reviews of controls within Operations to ensure that these are fit for purpose.
- Working collaboratively with the Operations teams on risk management and control enhancements.
- Escalating promptly new risks to the Senior Operations Leadership and Risk & Regulatory Control.
- Proactively and promptly manage any risk incidents that relate to or impact Operations.
- Performing and acting on robust root cause analysis of incidents.
- Ensuring that Operations has adequate written policies and procedures/working instructions in place with appropriate governance over those documents
- Providing meaningful risk and control reporting for Senior Operations Leadership and into the Risk Committee, including ad hoc Executive / Board reporting.
- Reporting promptly any significant performance, service or risk incidents to Senior Operations Leadership or Executive Team.
- Supporting the Risk and Regulatory Control team with the preparation of any risk and control MI that is required from Operations
- Role modelling the Vitesse values and promoting those values within Operations.
- Promoting transparency within Operations.
- Lead a risk averse culture, ensuring secure and consistent service delivery to Vitesse's client base.
- Gained considerable risk and control experience with payment or banking operations within a regulated environment (6+ years operating in a control ownership / decision making position)
- Knowledge gained from top tier financial organisations.
- Experience with risk governance meetings / committees, and collating data and writing supporting commentary
- Extensive knowledge of payment or banking operations, gained within fast-paced financial service environments
- Experience with RCSAs, control testing, and issue and action management
- Demonstrated skills to scale an operations function in a compliant and controlled way
- Are resilient and comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment where processes can change quickly.
- Comfortable challenging Senior colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for Vitesse's clients
- Operates in a transparent manner, with a keen interest in impactful reporting.
- A self-starter, and able to work independently and make prioritisation decisions
- An eye of detail and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
