As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in our team, you will be a key player in enhancing the quality and reliability of our cloud-based treasury management system. You will join a product squad organization, working closely with product, architecture, and commercial stakeholders. Your role will involve transforming our platform, currently based on .Net Framework, to a microservices architecture (.Net Core), while ensuring that our high standards of quality are not only maintained but also improved.
In this role, you will apply your expertise in both software development and software testing, working independently to design and implement automated test frameworks and tests. Your focus will be on ensuring high-quality solutions for our stakeholders. You'll be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment, ensuring the reliability and stability of our solutions. You will be part of a team of ambitious experts aiming to build a world-class engineering organization that supports our leadership in the market.
Your Responsibilities
Formed in 2014 by a team of proven FinTech entrepreneurs, we are an FCA regulated payments business that is driven to be the payment partner of choice for the insurance market, by providing global payment services and treasury optimisation. Operating one of the largest domestic banking and payment settlement networks in the world, we give our customers direct access to more than 170 countries and territories, covering over 110 currencies. Through a single integration, insurers can use this network to pay claims in as fast as 45 seconds, delivering a better customer experience to their claimants. Our market-leading treasury optimisation service brings complete control and transparency to insurers and allows them to have their money in the right place, at the right time, to make that all important payment - fast, and when their customers need it most.
With now over 160 employees across Europe and our London headquarters, $26m series B funding in 2022 in the bag and approaching £8bn in processed transactions, we are only just getting started.

Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and tests in alignment with our technology stack (.Net Core, C#), employing SOLID principles.
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand requirements, and ensure these are fully captured in test strategies.
- Contribute to the migration of our platform to a microservices architecture, focusing on test automation strategies for microservices.
- Expertise in testing large scale distributed systems - Microservices
- Break down complex problems into smaller, testable components.
- Be involved in troubleshooting and resolving customer issues from a quality perspective.
- Conduct code and design reviews with a focus on testability and quality improvements.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including test plans and reports.
- Continuously learn and apply best practices in test automation and quality assurance.
- Ensure the performance and reliability of our platform for our clients.
- Extensive knowledge of Agile development practices including TDD and BDD, promoting quality-focused methodologies in the team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong proficiency in automated testing with a focus on .Net Core technologies (legacy experience in .Net Framework is advantageous).
- Professional experience in developing and maintaining test automation for Azure-based, distributed microservice architectures.
- Proficient in implementing automated CI/CD pipelines for quality assurance (experience with Github actions).
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- In-depth knowledge of SOLID principles, especially from a testing perspective.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with a proactive approach to sharing updates and seeking feedback.
- Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server and Cosmos DB, and their integration into automated testing.
- We currently use:
- Github, Github Actions, Azure DevOps, AppVeyor, Octopus Deploy for CI/CD and test automation.
- Playwright, LightBDD and XUnit
- .Net Core, C# for test development.
