Overview
Vira Health is a women's and family health technology company operating virtual clinical services across multiple global markets. We are looking for a commercially minded MBA student to join our team as a Business Development Intern focused on Asia-Pacific.
This is a hands-on sales internship. You will drive outbound prospecting and outreach activity across APAC, identifying and engaging employer clients and EAP distribution partners in English and at least one additional regional language. You will work directly with Vira's senior leadership and gain genuine experience building pipeline in a fast-moving health-tech startup.
This role suits someone who is energised by outbound sales activity, brings strong regional fluency — linguistically and culturally — and is motivated by the opportunity to grow a new market from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Outreach & Pipeline Building
Identify and engage employer clients and EAP/channel partners across target APAC markets (e.g. Australia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, India, South Korea) through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and networking
Build and manage an outbound prospect pipeline in English and at least one regional language, from initial contact through to qualified opportunity
Conduct discovery conversations with prospective employer clients and distribution partners to assess fit with Vira's solutions
Navigate market-specific factors including regulatory environments, cultural attitudes toward women's health in the workplace, and corporate wellness purchasing norms
Sales Support & Enablement
Localise Vira's sales materials, pitch decks, and product collateral for APAC audiences, ensuring cultural sensitivity and linguistic accuracy
Develop outreach sequences and messaging tailored to specific regional markets
Track all prospect interactions and pipeline activity accurately in CRM tools
Reporting & Handoff
Report on outreach activity, pipeline progress, and key learnings to senior leadership regularly
Deliver a concise market and pipeline summary at the close of the internship, including recommendations for continued APAC outreach
Key Requirements
Currently enrolled in an MBA programme with an expected graduation of 2025 or 2026
Fluent English required; proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa, or another APAC language strongly preferred
Demonstrated interest or experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles
Familiarity with at least one APAC market, particularly employer benefits, group insurance, or corporate wellness
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one regional language
Comfortable working independently and managing a pipeline in a remote-first, cross-time-zone environment
Genuine interest in women's health, digital health, or health-tech
What to Expect at Vira
A real sales role with direct exposure to senior leadership and live commercial opportunities
Remote-first with flexible working hours to support APAC time zone overlap
Access to Vira's Member Zone platform and clinical content to build deep product knowledge
A collaborative, mission-driven team advancing women's health globally
Mentorship from experienced health-tech operators across the UK, US, and Canada
