Unlikely AI is a deep tech startup working to create a world where highly intelligent automated systems enable humanity to flourish and benefit us all. Based in London, the company was founded by William Tunstall-Pedoe, best known for his key role in the creation of Alexa following the acquisition of his first start-up by Amazon in 2012.

We require an exceptional financial strategist to take a proactive hands-on approach to develop our strategic plan and priorities. This would be our first business hire and would be a hybrid position that combines financial expertise with corporate development and business development. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be an expert on all financial topics and commercial strategy relevant to Unlikely AI, working closely with the C-suite and board to ensure readiness for further fundraising rounds.
Required:
Experience as a Senior Leader within a finance capacity in a fast-growing, deeply technical and successful start-up.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business or economics, with substantial experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity or management consulting.
Proven ability to interact with investors and industry experts
Deep familiarity with products and services within the tech market.
Ability to contribute more broadly to our success by being a key member of our senior team.
Location:
We are based in London and operate a hybrid regime where we have a small office near Holborn tube station which is available to anyone who wants to work there. We also have occasional team days where everyone meets face to face and days where people work heads down from home, communicating with colleagues using slack and zoom.
Compensation:
Compensation will be through salary and generous share options. The company has a tax-efficient EMI share option scheme set up (not available to larger companies) which allows us to provide real exposure to the success of the company without taxes being due when they are paid.
