Business Development Manager

Hybrid working - based in the office 3 days a week (HQ in Aldgate East, London)

About us:

We are an international, venture capital-backed business founded 8 years ago, with a passion to provide the best, most simple to use mobile inspection and auditing tools, to solve one of healthcare's most important challenges - how to engage front-line teams in continuously improving quality and patient safety.

We aim to not only bring a transformational digital user experience to front-line staff, across all health and social care settings but to also provide management and key stakeholders with a real-time view of quality across the organisation, to drive real quality improvement.

Our vision is to enable care providers to drive exceptional care quality through real-time data, valuable insight and the ability to take immediate action while unlocking frontline time care.

Our mission is to innovate in partnership with global care professionals providing effective access to evidence, unique process insight and pioneering technology.

As a business we are focused and dedicated to achieving our ambitious growth plans, making this an exciting time to join the Tendable team.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager with over 5+ years experience and a proven track record to support our ambitious growth plans in the UK and internationally.

The Business Development Manager will support the company, by generating new business, organically growing our customer base, building and maintaining client relationships and developing strategies to expand Tendable’s market presence.

About you:

  • You are experienced in enterprise and public sector technology sales, ideally with the health and social care sector
  • You are a consultative seller and able to manage longer and complex sales cycles
  • You are high performer with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding your sales targets - you thrive in a high-growth environment
  • You have proven ability and desire to generate your own opportunities and pipeline via personal outbound efforts
  • You have hustle, drive, and a bias for action - you're not afraid to experiment with creative tactics and pivot if it doesn't work.
  • You love collaborating with other teams and getting to know prospective customers – you’re curious to understand their challenges and how we could solve them.
  • You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and muck in to support the team and company in achieving its goals.
  • If you see something is not working, you’ll flag it and be part of the solution
  • You actively seek out feedback and continuous improvement - you want to learn, grow, and develop

Responsibilities and duties

Develop territory and regional pipeline

  • Create territory and regional plans and forecast growth from each area.
  • Work within different geographical spreads to develop and nurture opportunities, undertake outreach at scale and build relationships with potential customers.
  • Work closely with marketing to align and execute strategies and initiatives to outreach, generate leads and grow new business
  • Represent Tendable at trade shows and other events to promote the company and generate leads.
  • Regularly review, update and change plans and tactics based on business objectives, industry context, market conditions and customer feedback
  • Keep updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.

Revenue generation and sales cycle management

  • Responsible for winning new contracts and increasing ARR
  • Lead on pitches for new business opportunities, including preparing the pitch and demonstrating the product
  • Create compelling proposals, nurture leads through the sales cycle and close deals working closely with the Customer Success Team to scope and the Operations Team to contract and close
  • Keep up to date with product, commercial and industry developments to ensure high quality sales conversations
  • Effectively manage a pipeline and reduce the length of our sales cycle, including by following an established sales process (from engagement and pitch through to procurement and closing of the contract)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities using Pipedrive CRM software. Generate regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts.

Collaboration and teamwork

  • Work closely with other go-to-market teams (Marketing and Customer Success) to ensure customer needs are met and revenue targets are met or exceeded
  • Provide market feedback to Product and Development teams for product enhancement.
  • Encourage potential customers to link into our customer community and attend appropriate networking events, conferences and webinars.
  • Contribute market insights to marketing collateral such as blogs, webinars and events.

One of the great things about a scale-up is there are opportunities to get involved in all sorts of things outside of your normal remit. The list above represents your core role and responsibilities but isn’t exhaustive and you may be asked to take on new responsibilities as necessitated by the business.

Benefits:

  • Competitive market salary with pension contribution up to 7%
  • Annual commission plan
  • Company share option scheme
  • Individual personal development budget plus 3 days leave per annum
  • 25 days annual leave
  • 24/7 employee assistant programme
  • The opportunity to join an exceptional start-up business backed by blue-chip VCs at an early stage of the journey.

Our workplace and culture

At Tendable, we apply the best digital technology to solve one of healthcare’s most important challenges: how to continuously raise the bar on quality.

The Tendable app and web platform make quality inspections quicker, easier and more effective by bringing the mobile user experience we all know and love to the frontlines of the healthcare industry.

About Tendable

Health and care workers are called to their professions because of a passion for people, not paperwork. Yet, healthcare staff often spend more time on admin than caring for patients.

At the same time, health and care workers face new challenges in keeping our communities healthy. As a result, understanding and improving quality in care is more critical now than ever.

Across care and clinical settings, teams want to do better for the people and communities they care for. First, they need to know what better means.

This is why we created Tendable.
