JOB TITLE: SYNC CO-ORDINATOR

Purpose of Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Sync Co-ordinator to join our independent sync department. As a Sync Co-ordinator, you will play a critical role in managing and co-ordinating the process between our catalogue partners (labels, publishers, artists, management companies) and the music supervisors and agencies we deal with.

Your primary responsibility will be to help facilitate the licensing and placement of music in various media projects, including films, television shows, commercials, video games, and other digital content. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic industry and contribute to our on-going success.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintain and organise our music catalogue, making sure all new music is tagged with accurate metadata and relevant information for each track, album and playlist.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific music requirements and sync licensing needs.
• Research and identify appropriate music tracks from our catalogue that align with clients’ requests. Stay up to date with the latest music trends, genres, and licensing opportunities.
• Checking both Republic of Music digital and physical schedules for up-and-coming releases, attending inter departmental meetings and talking to clients about upcoming releases.
• Compiling playlists to send out to UK and US sync contacts.
• Briefs & Pitching – Responding, coordinating and collaborating correctly with music supervisors and agencies, to understand their musical preferences, suggesting suitable tracks for their upcoming projects – keeping up the “Republic of Sync” tag line of “always on time on brief and on budget”.
• New business – looking for new contacts in the sync industry and arranging meeting with these to bring in more business, attending suitable sync events to attend to broaden knowledge and contacts.
• US Market – taking an active role in US market and helping to heighten our profile and to encourage more brief from the US. Reaching out direct to certain supervisors to build up a more personal relationship – opportunities for travel.
• Art direction for republic of Sync – liaise with Dave to realise the artistic vision for Republic of Sync, from pack shots and logos to website and social media, making sure the brand has a strong identity.
• Assisting in other areas of the business as required.

Requirements:

• Some experience in sync, licensing, music supervision, or a related role within the music industry.
• Understanding of music copyright laws and licensing agreements.
• Familiarity with music publishing, record label operations, and industry-standard practices.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Proficient computer skills and the industry catalogue management software (Disco).
• Passion for music and a strong knowledge of different genres, artists, and music trends.
• Excel and spreadsheet management
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving industry.
