Reporting to the Japan Country Manager, the Technical Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring Sprout’s deployments in Japan run smoothly and are delivered successfully.
After we successfully secure a customer contract, you will be responsible for managing the implementation process from requirements gathering through to successful go-live, partnering with insurers to maximise the value they are able to achieve with Sprout.ai’s product suite and driving adoption within the business.
As a foundational member of our Japanese team, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow a nascent business. Through working closely with our Country Manager and the Growth team in the UK, you will have opportunities to shape Sprout.ai Japan and take the lead in changing the face of insurance in Japan with industry-defining AI.
What you will do
Owning the end-to-end project delivery for Sprout’s Japanese customers, across PoCs and production deployments.
Define, gain agreement on, and communicate project milestones; create and maintain a pragmatic, risk‑aware delivery plan.
Safeguard team pace and quality during day‑to‑day execution through proactive progress tracking, early issue identification, structured root-cause analysis and solution design.
Work with customers to prove the value of the Sprout technology in a test case and support in driving the success of POCs, ensuring conversion to production engagement.
Ensure satisfaction across the customer hierarchy, from C level stakeholders to daily users of the product.
Drive overall customer success and act as an escalation point for ongoing service issues.
What we’re looking for
Must haves
Native-level fluency in Japanese. Advanced business-level English is also required.
Experience in delivering complex software projects and partnering with teams of Software Engineers and Data Scientists - we’ll want to hear about successful projects you’ve led.
Experience delivering technical projects and software implementations for external customers and stakeholders.
Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong at relationship development across customer hierarchy, from C-level to daily users of the product
Strong communication skills to bridge a gap between customers’ needs and internal Product/Data Science/Engineering teams’ constraints and priorities
Self-Starter with appetite to learn about new technology and customers
Nice to haves
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence concepts (eg, LLMs, Natural Language Processing, OCR)
Insurance domain knowledge
Business Analysis or Customer Success experience
Experience working in asynchronous or remote-first environments
