What to Expect

As part of Raylo’s Engineering team, you’ll play a central role in delivering a seamless customer experience across both our web and mobile platforms. You’ll be joining a fast-moving, mission-driven company at the forefront of the circular economy. Working in a cross-functional squad alongside product, design, and backend engineers, you’ll contribute to the development of new features, iterate on existing ones, and run A/B tests that directly impact user growth and business outcomes.

You’ll get stuck into exciting greenfield development as well as continual improvements to core parts of our web and mobile apps. Over your first 12 months, you’ll go from shipping small but meaningful changes to having a significant contribution to frontend delivery on key initiatives that contribute to our growth goals. Along the way, you’ll develop strong relationships across disciplines and grow your technical depth in modern frontend frameworks and tooling.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable frontend experiences across Raylo’s web and mobile applications using React and React Native.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define approaches to new features, solve technical challenges, and maintain system integrity.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and marketing teams to iterate on growth initiatives, such as A/B tests and new feature launches that improve the user journey.
  • Work in an agile environment, taking ownership of your work from concept through to release and ongoing refinement.
  • Help maintain a high-quality codebase through testing, code reviews, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas for system and process enhancements, particularly in how we optimise for performance and scale.
  • Stay current with industry trends and bring fresh perspectives into the team, advocating for modern best practices and scalable solutions.

You’ll Succeed with

  • 3+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience in a product-focused, agile, and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES7+), with strong familiarity across the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with React and/or React Native for mobile app development.
  • Understanding of testing frontend code and ensuring quality through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas and decisions with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bonus points for experience with server-side rendering (Next.js), GraphQL, or end-to-end mobile development.
  • A collaborative, curious, and user-focused mindset, aligned with Raylo’s values of walking in the customer’s shoes and being gritty and deeply curious.
  • Enthusiasm for sustainability and a desire to contribute to a product that reduces waste and improves accessibility.
