We are looking for skilled engineers to develop creative solutions answering the key business questions our clients have. One of our main challenges is obtaining real-time insights from publicly available data sources such as social media, open web, research and medical publications, and many others. For this role, we are looking for an experienced data science engineer with a practical background in machine learning, ideally with experience in and familiar with state of the art in natural language processing and recommendation systems to help us scale our data products and work on challenging tasks from data extraction to data processing and data insight.

As a Senior Data Science Engineer in our Platform team, you will co-operate with other AI/ML teams to set the company direction for AI as well as co-operate on end-to-end development of practical AI/ML based solutions delivering real value to end users.

You will:

• Be experienced at building and deploying data solutions as a full stack engineer with a bias towards AI/ML
• Work on a very interesting and innovative data product which includes ingestion of real-world web data at scale and expanding use of AI/ML models
• Bring best-practices from within and outside the organization, and influence workflow and technology choices across the team
• Design, code, train, test, deploy and iterate on new and existing machine learning models
• Help craft the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence at Peakdata
• Develop tools and solutions enabling our stakeholders to monitor and improve data and product quality, especially with respect to the accuracy of our AI/ML models
• Support more junior engineers by providing them with coaching and mentoring
• Apply engineering best practices and improve our engineering excellence
• Work closely with our Data Engineers and with the Platform team to ensure our AI/ML capability data is integrated in the best way possible with our data processing platform (on AWS)
• Independently identify ML/AI opportunities and propose solutions

You have

• 5+ years working as ML engineer / Data scientist and a proven track record of commercial projects you contributed to
• Good proficiency in Python
• Proficiency with different Python NLP frameworks and approaches

• Practical experience with ML/AI models full life cycle, from training to deploying into production ideally using MLOps best practices
• Experience deploying ML/AI models using different approaches such as microservices or batch inference
• A solid foundation and experience with Data Engineering and preferably Big Data
• Experience with AWS ecosystem, and especially utilising modern data lake/mesh solutions in AWS
• Pragmatism - you know when to apply the right technology at the right time.
• Good communication skills - you make your voice heard among the team and the wider tech organization and engage with our stakeholders to enable them and listen to their needs
• An entrepreneur’s mindset. You can deal with ambiguity and help identify new opportunities and required improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience with building scalable Serverless solutions using Lambdas, Glue and Step Functions on AWS
• Have previous experience working remotely
• Have previous experience in Pharma
• Have experience building solutions using Large Language Models (LLM’s)
