What’s the opportunity?

We’re looking for a dynamic and inquisitive Retail Executive to join our expanding team, working across our exciting brands as they scale over the coming years. 🚀

This is a varied role where the Retail Executive will work at the heart of the business, managing the lifecycle of the products we sell, and supporting the Retail Lead to build and shape our product offering for the business’s consumer brands, working with all teams to deliver retail performance.

Day to day you will have the autonomy and flexibility to work on either brand. You’ll have input into several areas of the business, you could spend the morning researching horticulture brands and identifying opportunities for growth, and the afternoon testing new onsite merchandising for Arena Flowers. We are looking for someone ambitious and motivated to play a key role in our growth.

The role will report into our Retail Lead at Arena.Online, and will work closely with the full Consumer team, as well as other teams across Arena.Online and external suppliers.

What will the job involve?

Core Responsibilities

  1. Supporting the Retail Lead, with:
    1. Monitoring competitor activity and market trends, identifying potential gaps and opportunities for range development
    2. Range and product development with scope to own categories
    3. Attending tradeshows and visiting growers, searching for new suppliers and product
    4. Maintaining visual plans to help identify gaps in the range
    5. Quarterly range reviews, learning to interpret performance data
    6. Cross-functional communication on product lifecycle, product availability, campaigns
  1. Managing the product life cycle of listing product on both Patch and Arena Flowers
    1. Database management - managing product creation and listing in back-end systems
    2. Managing how new products are displayed on the brands’ websites and calling on respective teams in the business to drive improvements
    3. Keeping listings current and up to date, removing old products and working in a way that supports trading and SEO
    4. Maintaining product information on website, in range plans and other documentation
    5. Liaising with the business on product and stock queries for both brands, including to suppliers
    6. Monitoring open orders and communicating availability timelines in regards to onsite product stock management
  1. Working with the Retail Lead, Trading Lead, Floristry Lead, Growth, Creative and the Content Editor on improving Patch Plants, Arena Flowers & other Consumer brand websites
    1. BAU improvements and product changes to support trading and activation activity (creation and management of campaign-specific pages on site)
    2. Managing the presentation of products for all brands (ranking, requesting imagery improvements, weekly site-walks)
    3. Managing and helping to grow secondary channels to the business, e.g. Amazon, Selfridges, Next or other channels and retailers, and supporting the launch of new brands in future

Skills & Qualifications 🎯

  • Experience in e-commerce essential, preferably in horticulture, floristry or homewares
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Interest in products, trends, and customer behaviour
  • Strong communication skills across a multi-location team
  • Strong ability to be flexible, multitask and to adapt to changing priorities
  • A problem solving, structured and analytical mind
  • Able to interpret data and turn it into insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft or Google Workspace
  • Experience in Shopify desirable
