As a senior member of the People team this role offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to the business as we continue to grow. The Senior Business Partner will bring their expertise, experience and energy as a business partner to our Chief Technical officer, and they will also serve as the senior People Partner for our UK/EMEA region. In this role, they will lead strategic talent initiatives and drive change management efforts that allow us to execute against our goals and drive a high performing team culture; demonstrating learning and leadership agility, showing a proactive curiosity and passion for driving Opensignal’s business.

The People team, composed of eight professionals spanning Victoria, BC to Warsaw, Poland, is focused on enabling high-performing teams and ensuring Opensignal is known as a “Best Place to Work”. What you will do:

Serve as a strategic talent partner to the business.

  • Proactively pinpoint areas for improvement and implement dynamic people strategies that help the organization minimize risks, enhance performance, and scale efficiently during its growth.
  • Drive respective business units’ ability to attract, develop and retain top talent.
  • Coach and influence senior leaders on development, engagement and inclusion that can have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the business.
  • Drive positive transformations in people management by coaching and fostering effective feedback loops between employees and managers.

Serve as a culture ambassador for our UK office.

  • As a core member of our office and social committees in the UK, this role helps to build stronger connections across the teams and is an active part of our efforts to bring people together for the moments that matter (proximity to our Liverpool Station office in London is key).

Own and drive People programs for the global organization.

  • Leverage people trends and data to design, execute, and oversee HR training, global initiatives, and programs.
  • Act as a catalyst for positive change in support of our culture; guiding and driving change management and communications solutions that contribute to stronger collaboration and connections.

Deliver functional operational excellence.

  • Serve as a HR and employment law SME for the UK and EMEA regions, supported by our HRBP in Poland.
  • Identify and drive functional improvements and efficiencies that take ‘the friction out of work’ and better enable our business clients to focus their energy on serving our customers.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to our more junior People team members as we continue to grow.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field is required. MBA or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • 10-15 years of human resource experience.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in a technology focused HR Business Partner role, supporting a global, matrixed organization, SaaS or Data company connected to telecom preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing both strategic thought partnership work as well as rolling up your sleeves to drive impact as we continue to further integrate global systems and expand automation efforts.
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner for a global business.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle people-challenges creatively, drive change effectively, and deliver solutions that enable business success.
  • Strong intellect and ability to garner trust as an advisor through business knowledge, relationship-building, and an ability to drive results collaboratively.
  • Project and people management skills including building and executing a project plan, managing resources and stakeholders, and communicating in large and small groups.
  • Effective communication skills among diverse audiences and an ability to connect, coach, and mentor.
  • A positive attitude, sound judgment, professionalism with handling confidential information.
