How you will make an impact...

Opensignal is looking for an experienced quantitative, critical thinker to help work on a wide range of business intelligence and data initiatives designed to support multiple products for our clients. If you have managed complex and ambiguous data projects across an array of products, supported by multiple teams in a fast paced, highly collaborative and innovative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

The Director will be monitoring and supporting the core ETL processes, identifying, communicating, addressing and triaging data and product quality issues..

This candidate must be interested in collaborating in a dynamic environment, supporting multiple big data pipelines in a cross-functional agile environment whose team will be supporting data engineers, and data scientists. Strong standards and process orientation is a must. Experience in communicating clearly and concisely with non-technical client support teams is essential..

What you will be doing?

  • Lead initiatives towards data quality assurance of new and existing products.
  • Implement best data management and governance practices to support product foundations in line with compliance and security requirements.
  • Drive the data operations team during the involvement in product development.
  • Provide status reports on the teams performance regarding projects, which allows for visibility to leadership to understand the teams capabilities and potential growth.
  • Mentor data analysts on quality assurance, which leads to autonomy to be innovative, including the opportunity to make and learn from mistakes.
  • Actively renews own personal and professional skills, applies them to new areas and remains current in area of work.
  • Contributes knowledge sharing in areas of technical expertise outside of data operations.
  • Participate in an organization which encourages change and be able to involve all the relevant people to support the change initiative

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Track record leading a team of data scientists, data engineers and data analysts
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL - write and maintain complex SQL queries for big data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python
  • Experience working in an environment utilizing code management best practices.
  • Expertise in big data analysis on AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in data quality assurance.
  • Knowledge in core programming and software development practices.
  • Experience in data visualization tools like tableau, mode, grafana.
  • Worked in an agile development environment to collaborate with different teams like data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
  • Experience with Airflow
