Your Impact

We’re looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of all statutory accounting activities, ensuring a smooth month end process; and to manage a growing Finance team. You will report to the Global Controller and work alongside a team of Financial Accountants responsible for other divisions of the Group. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the business as it pushes into the next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

This will be a hands-on role and as such the ability to manage several tasks in a fast moving organization is key. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a wider team on improving processes and controls, and help to build an even more efficient finance operation, while developing the team.

Finance management and governance

  • Managing the day-to-day financial operations
  • Leading and managing of a small, efficient and high-performing operations and finance team with the support of the Global Controller and CFO; planning and assisting with the training of the team members, highlighting and assessing their training needs on an ongoing basis
  • Overseeing the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control to ensure timely payments to our suppliers and prompt debt collection
  • Preparation and transmission of payroll information to the local outsourced payroll providers, reviewing output and ensuring accuracy
  • Supporting the Global Controller and CFO with the management of banking relationships, insurance renewals and similar finance related activities
  • Keeping up to date with relevant company law and tax legislation and undertake appropriate continuous professional development as required by your accountancy qualification
  • Developing, implementing and documenting best practice financial processes, controls and accounting policies in alignment with the wider Group

Systems

  • Supporting Netsuite system optimization projects
  • Managing, maintaining and developing the division’s financial accounting systems, ensuring fit for purpose and suggesting and implementing enhancements to improve the efficiency of the finance function
  • Maintaining a robust control environment to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information

Management reporting

  • Owning the month end process, including the timely production of consolidated monthly management accounts and financial statements within the first 5-7 working days of each month
  • Being responsible for balance sheet, cash and intercompany reconciliations
  • Managing and updating cash flow, working closely with the different teams to understand and model changes
  • Collaborating with, and supporting the FP&A team in annual budgeting and forecasting activities, and ongoing monthly and ad hoc reporting

Audit and statutory reporting

  • Leading on year-end activities, including financial audit(s), statutory accounts and tax compliance processes including UK R&D return preparation
  • Liaising and developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, accountants, local tax advisors and domestic tax authorities
  • Managing the preparation and timely submission of UK VAT returns, US sales tax returns, and other tax and National Statistics reporting, etc

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with quality of post-qualification experience taking precedence over quantity; strong accounting knowledge, with proven experience with IFRS/ UK GAAP
  • Strong analytical skills, organized, with strong attention to detail and responsiveness
  • Desire to learn fast and challenge yourself
  • Highly disciplined and leads by example with respect to the standard of output and the meeting of deadlines
  • Confidence to engage and liaise with stakeholders at different levels of seniority
  • Experience of a complex multi currency environment, consolidation and management of international subsidiaries, including taxation
  • Excellent communicator, with strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Passion for the technology industry and its best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Google Sheets, Netsuite an advantage
