About the Role

Procurement is a $4.2 trillion market where strategic decisions worth millions are still made manually — fragmented data, weeks of preparation, and negotiations run on instinct rather than intelligence. Monq changes that. We've built an AI negotiation engine that sits inside enterprise procurement workflows, giving teams the strategic clarity to negotiate faster and win better terms.

We're now hiring a Sales Executive to open the German market for Monq. You'll work directly with the founding team on every deal — no account management layers, no inherited playbook, no existing pipeline. Germany is a new market for us, and you're the one building it: targeting the Mittelstand companies and large enterprises that make up the backbone of German industry, and adapting our proposition to how they actually buy.

Ready to build Monq's commercial foundation in Germany? Let's get in touch.

What You'll Be Doing

Full-Cycle Enterprise & Mittelstand Sales:

Own every stage of the sales cycle — from first outreach through to signed contract — across German Mittelstand and large enterprise accounts

Build and manage your own pipeline from day one; you are accountable for sourcing as well as closing

Sell into senior procurement and finance stakeholders — CPOs, CFOs, Leiter/innen Einkauf, and VP Procurement — comfortable operating in both English and German commercial contexts

Enterprise Deal Execution:

Run deep discovery to uncover the specific procurement pain, shape the right use case, and build the business case that gets it approved internally

Manage complex, often more conservative German buying cycles — multiple stakeholders, works councils, procurement governance, and legal/data protection review — without losing momentum

Working closely with the engineering team and understanding the needs of the customers

Germany GTM Development:

Work directly with the founders — what you learn from German prospects and customers feeds back into positioning, localization, and the product roadmap

Define the commercial process for the German market from the ground up; what you establish becomes the foundation for the team we build behind you

Advise the founding team on how Mittelstand and large-enterprise buying culture in Germany differs from our other markets, and adapt the playbook accordingly

What You'll Need

Essential Experience:

Fluent in German and professional working proficiency in English

Solid B2B sales experience with a strong and verifiable track record — enterprise SaaS, professional services, or complex B2B solution sales

Comfortable selling to and negotiating with senior stakeholders at Mittelstand and large enterprise organizations

Professional Skills:

Comfortable operating in an environment where the process is still being defined — you build structure rather than relying on it

Sharp commercial judgement — you can read a deal, identify where it's stalling, and adjust your approach accordingly

Clear, credible communicator with both technical teams and executive buyers, in German and English

Enough genuine interest in AI and procurement to hold a substantive conversation with sophisticated buyers about the problem Monq solves

Nice to Have

Previous experience in consulting or similar professional services background

Direct procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience

Existing network within German Mittelstand or large enterprise procurement and finance functions

Previous experience in an early-stage company where you contributed to building the GTM function

Experience in procurement technology, supply chain software, or enterprise SaaS

Compensation and Benefits

At Monq, we recognise that the commercial team defines the trajectory of a category-defining company. We offer:

Competitive Package:

Competitive base salary plus commission and equity

Bi-annual performance bonuses tied to successful deal closures and customer outcomes

Work Environment:

Germany-based or remote, with flexibility to travel to customers and to Monq's other hubs

Direct collaboration with the founding team and Fortune 500 / Mittelstand procurement teams

Annual team retreat — fully-funded off-site focused on growth and team building

Career Growth:

Opportunity to define the commercial motion for AI-powered enterprise negotiations in the German market

Direct mentorship from founders with backgrounds at Revolut and Deutsche Bank

First commercial hire in Germany, with a clear path to building and leading the team as the market grows

Others:

No HR organisation

Minimum 30 days of annual leave and a day off in the month of your birthday

Flexible working hours as long as we get the things done

Our Interview Process

We run a focused interview process designed for senior enterprise sales talent:

Screening Call (30 minutes):

Discussion of your enterprise sales background, track record, and pipeline generation approach

Overview of Monq's commercial opportunity, target customer profile, and current GTM stage in Germany

Alignment on compensation expectations, location, and role scope

Sales Challenge — Take-home and Presentation (45 minute debrief):

Take-home task: given a target Mittelstand or enterprise account profile and Monq's product overview, produce a prospecting strategy, discovery approach, and outline deal plan

Present your thinking to the founding team — walk through how you would take this account from cold to close in the German market

Problem Solving Interview (45 minutes):

A live scenario based on a real commercial situation — a stalled deal, a pricing objection, or navigating a German procurement/works council process

Deep dive into a significant deal you closed from a cold start — the full story from first contact to signature

Bar Raiser Interview (1 hour):

Conversation with one of Monq's co-founders on the most complex enterprise sales cycle you have owned

Assessment of how you operate at the intersection of commercial rigour, product knowledge, and enterprise relationship management in the German market

This is our usual interview process, but we reserve the right to rearrange the order of the steps.
