This role is remote first but travel will occasionally be required to the London office (one day a month).
A day in the life
As a Senior Data Analyst at ManyPets you’ll play a leading role in connecting Data teams with the wider organisation, working closely with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) to embed data informed decisions. This role requires advanced technical expertise and strong business acumen to deliver deeper insights, shape recommendations and enhance operational efficiency.
You’ll take ownership of complex analysis, design advanced dashboards and implement scalable solutions that support multiple business areas. You’ll work with stakeholders to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives, while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
You’ll also ensure streamlined data integration from multiple sources, ensuring seamless data flow and contribute to ongoing analytics projects, providing guidance to colleagues. You will play a vital role in shaping the growth and success of ManyPets.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with EPD and other departments to refine KPIs and deliver deep insights that inform both tactical and strategic decisions.
- Build, refine, and optimise dashboards and analysis, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and widely adopted.
- Integrate and validate multiple datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency in performance insights.
- Support and optimise data connections from Google Cloud Platform, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Design and implement advanced queries and analysis, anticipating evolving business needs.
- Provide support and mentorship in using analytical tools, helping colleagues build confidence and capability.
- Develop and maintain documentation and implement training materials that embed best practice across the team.
- Ensure secure and GDPR compliant access to data, promoting good governance and responsible use.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data infrastructure is fit for purpose and supports evolving business needs.
- Conduct and guide data validation and quality checks, ensuring integrity and reliability is at the core of all we do.
- Contribute to the development of data driven strategies, offering deep analysis and recommendations for growth and customer satisfaction.
- Clearly present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring that all strategies are data driven and aligned with business goals.
Your skills and experience
Essential:
- You'll have strong commercial experience from a similar role within data analytics. ideally with exposure to Data Engineering and a track record of delivering impactful insights.
- Strong experience analysing large datasets, with proven ability to turn insights into actionable recommendations.
- Experience with automation in data analysis and business processes, with ability to suggest and implement improvements.
- Strong technical skills in SQL, Python and dashboarding, with experience across BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Ideally your technical skills would also include Git, DBT and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience mentoring and influencing other analysts, sharing best practices and helping to raise the overall analytical capability of the team.
- Knowledge of both input and output metrics that drive revenue, including how to leverage data to impact commercial outcomes.
- Proactive in identifying new opportunities for analysis, automation or improved reporting standards.
- You enjoy being Agile - you should be happy working with Agile or Kanban methodologies, with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Motivated by working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment like ours!
- Superb problem solving abilities with a focus on uncovering the ‘why’ behind data trends, leading informed decision-making.
- Skilled at communicating complex data insights clearly and articulating data limitations to various stakeholders including executives.
- Knowledge of marketing measurement techniques required to gauge marketing effectiveness along with experience in segmentation strategies.
Ways of working
On a typical day you’ll be working from a laptop with a screen, mouse, keyboard, and headset. You’ll be meeting your colleagues on Zoom and keeping in touch regularly via email and Slack too – we’d expect you to be using your computer for around seven hours a day. We’d ask that you have a distraction-free work area and a reliable internet connection with a speed of 25Mbps so you can work effectively. We’ll make sure you have the right home set-up that supports you in the role by providing best-in-class technology, money towards a desk, and vision support.
