About Us

At Living Optics, we build hyperspectral cameras. Our devices see information inaccessible to the human eye and convention cameras enabling our customers to do a whole range of things more efficiently from food production to improvements in security and healthcare.

We are a thriving start up at the stage where we have launched our first camera product. You will be joining a team with a broad range of experiences and backgrounds. You will have an impact on our product, our team and our customers. As our number of customers grow, so do we, and we are looking for a Technician to join our team.

About The Role

You will play a crucial role in ensuring we build quality products. As a member of our production team you will be exposed to all aspects of our production operation from incoming parts inspection through to outgoing customer shipments.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a keen interest in developing their career and experience in manufacturing engineering. We will provide support and mentoring to help you.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Kitting builds, product assembly and test
  • Maintenance of work instructions and generation of production records
  • Performing equipment calibrations and product testing
  • Goods-in quality inspections, stores and inventory management
  • Configuration, packing and shipment of product to customers
  • Contributing to enhancement of our processes, continuous improvement and rapid prototyping activities

We are looking for specific skills and experience which are crucial for this role, so we have thought carefully about what's essential and our desirable skills really are nice-to-haves. We support and encourage development and we hope the right candidate will grow along with our business.

Essential Requirements

  • You will be organised and pay attention to detail with the ability to follow processes safely, diligently and with the minimum of supervision
  • Able to interpret work instructions, quality, manufacturing and test standard procedures, work from 3D CAD and assembly drawings
  • Hands-on experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing and/or equipment test
  • Strong computer and IT skills
  • HNC (Level 4) or higher in Engineering or equivalent industrial experience

Desirable Requirements

  • Some experience in assembly and test of: scientific instruments, cameras, opto-mechanics, electronics/computing assemblies

Location and Commitments

  • Onsite at our Oxfordshire HQ
  • Full-time but we can accommodate when life means you might need some flexibility
  • Permanent
