What you’ll do

  • As a talented and experienced C&I PV Solar Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing efficient and effective rooftop photovoltaic (PV) solar system projects.

  • You will create detailed PV designs and documents, optimising system performance and seamlessly integrating the latest solar technology into our growing project portfolio.

  • You will work on contract and report to the Senior Operations Manager, supporting our specific project goals. If you have a passion for renewable energy this role offers an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to projects that make an impact.

Your experience

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing PV solar systems, preferably in the commercial or utility-scale sector.

  • You are proficient in PV system design software, especially with PVSyst. You have a strong understanding of electrical concepts, relevant codes, standards, industry requirements, and best practices, and a proven history of efficient and well-designed PV system projects.

  • Familiarity with both grid-tied and off-grid systems is advantageous. Experience in G99/G100 applications and existing relations with local UK DNO is a preferable but not a must. Advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy systems design are a plus.

What you will be responsible for

  • You will be supporting our solar PV projects by creating accurate efficient PV designs which can be accepted and executed on by our installer partners. That will include conducting energy production calculations, electrical load analysis, and system sizing to determine optimal configurations for maximum energy output and efficiency.

  • You will perform site visits within the UK and assessments as required, considering factors like shading analysis, roof conditions, and electrical infrastructure to verify system feasibility.

  • Using a procurement-driven approach, you will select suitable solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other components based on project specifications, performance requirements, and budget constraints. You will prepare design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and system schematics, ensuring accuracy and clarity for our construction and installation partners.
