The Role

You will scale operational excellence, unify cross-channel programmatic delivery, and align performance, strategy, and revenue risk management. This senior role requires deep expertise in programmatic strategy, ad tech, reporting automation, risk management, and team leadership.

What we are looking for:

We seek a strategic, results-driven Senior Director of Programmatic Delivery to lead programmatic operations across media execution and technical account support. You will own the end-to-end delivery of programmatic campaigns, managing and mentoring a high-performing team of Traders (Managed Service) and Technical Account Managers (Supply Curation), while driving operational excellence, thought leadership, and margin growth.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership & Organizational Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team of Managed Service Traders and TAMs (Supply Curation).
  • Define and implement scalable team structures, workflows, and documentation.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-driven culture balancing technical rigor with creative problem-solving.
  • Partner with analytics, product, and client services to refine workflows and escalation protocols.

Performance Management

  • Hold traders accountable for margin, delivery, and performance goals.
  • Review campaign health metrics regularly and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper setup hygiene, tool utilization, and adherence to pricing/margin guidelines.
  • Leverage proprietary platforms (Hawk, Targetspot, Improve, HT DMP) for cost efficiencies.

Risk Management

  • Oversee campaign and portfolio performance, focusing on efficiency, ROI, and business outcomes.
  • Maintain account performance sheets, Tableau dashboards, and taxonomy standards for automated reporting.
  • Proactively identify and escalate delivery, performance, or margin risks.
  • Monitor pacing, platform behavior, and margin trends to preempt issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting for high-risk campaigns, engaging SMEs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, updated, and stress-tested forecasting models.

Pre-Sales Support

  • Approve final rates, vendor recommendations, and partnership pilots.
  • Manage DSP, SSP, DMP, measurement, and data provider relationships.
  • Guide integration of new technologies and advanced capabilities (e.g., dynamic creative, identity resolution, audience enrichment).
  • Collaborate with product marketing to bring emerging capabilities to market.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Create and enforce SOPs, SLAs, and escalation protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to brand safety, fraud prevention, viewability standards, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and operational audits for enterprise clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years in digital advertising or ad tech, with 5+ years in a programmatic leadership role.
  • Experience managing teams across trading, ad operations, or technical account management.
  • Expert knowledge of major DSPs and SSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk, DV360, Magnite, Index, Pubmatic, Xandr SSPs), tag management, pixel tracking, and data integrations.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale programmatic campaigns across multiple verticals or client types.
  • Experience with AdOps responsibilities inclusive of but not limited to, tag troubleshooting, tag wrapping, creative trafficking, and advanced measurement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience within an agency, in-house media team, or ad tech platform environment.
  • Familiarity with regulations within the sensitive category ad space ie. HIPPA, GDPR.
  • Working knowledge of ad verification and brand safety platforms (e.g., IAS, DoubleVerify, MOAT).
