About this role

In this remote role as a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the success of an area of the product by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will work closely with the cross-functional teams to solve problems and seize opportunities that drive value for our customers, ensuring they contribute to the overall product vision defined by the Chief Product Officer. You will lead the development of a technology strategy, collaborate with engineering and operations teams, and ensure seamless integration between customer-facing products and underlying platforms.

About the team

The Product-Technology team at Fuse is made up of the Product, Tech and QA functions. Within Product, you will be part of the Product Management team, who work alongside Product Design and a new Product Ops team. In Tech, we have Engineering and the Platform team. In QA, the team is split between Analysts and Automation.

Our squad structure has a permanent Product Manager, Lead Engineer and Lead QA Analyst, these squads are led by KPI’s which is how the success of your role will be measured.
As the PM for the technical Squad you will be responsible for improving our speed of delivery, performance and reliability across all developments with KPI’s to reflect this.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product strategy: Align with business objectives, conduct market research, and define product vision and value proposition.
  • Plan and manage product roadmap: Prioritise features and ensure solutions are technically feasible, scalable and meet quality standards. Co-develop comprehensive product requirements documents (PRDs) with the lead engineer and co-develop user stories with QA.
  • Launch and optimise products: Plan successful launches, including marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and customer training. Gather user feedback, and analyse product performance.
  • Customer focus: Conduct user research and usability testing to inform product decisions. Build strong relationships with customers and the learning industry to understand needs and pain points, to develop products that meet customer requirements and deliver value.
  • Data-driven decision making: Track KPIs, conduct competitor analysis, and use data insights for continuous improvement. Analyse product performance metrics and user data to identify trends and inform product decisions.
  • Backlog Management and Prioritisation: Regularly refine and prioritise the backlog to ensure clarity and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with the development team to create actionable user stories. Apply expertise in managing technical products, backlog grooming, and roadmap planning.
  • Capacity Planning and Risk Mitigation: Assess team capacity, allocate tasks effectively, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery. Prepare business cases to optimise resources and address delivery challenges. Identify and mitigate risks related to technical challenges or dependencies.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Clearly communicate product roadmaps, priorities, and updates to stakeholders. Participate in team ceremonies and resolve dependencies to support organisational goals. Address product issues, manage bugs, and foster knowledge sharing across teams.
