FP&A Lead

Role Overview:
As a senior member of Depop’s Strategic Finance team, you’ll report to the Finance Director and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term financial strategy. You’ll drive forward-looking financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, ensuring decisions are data-driven, strategically aligned, and supportive of Depop’s growth ambitions. Beyond execution, you will define frameworks, influence senior leadership, and elevate the finance function as a key driver of business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Set the vision for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with company priorities.

  • Build and scale robust financial models (including profitability, long-term scenarios, and investments) that underpin decision-making across the company.

  • Establish and evolve an investment governance framework to guide executive-level capital allocation.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Depop’s executive team, particularly the CFO, shaping strategic and operational decisions through data-driven insights.

  • Influence senior stakeholders by aligning financial planning with both near-term goals and long-term strategy.

  • Champion financial discipline, defining how teams evaluate, prioritise, and measure initiatives.

Performance Management & Communication

  • Lead company-wide margin and KPI management, defining metrics that drive accountability and highlight growth vs. profitability trade-offs.

  • Anticipate risks and opportunities, recommending corrective actions and strategic pivots.

  • Deliver high-impact communication materials for leadership and the board, turning financial insights into clear strategic narratives.

Financial Analysis, Forecasting & Investment Strategy

  • Lead the company-wide forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business teams and executive priorities.

  • Analyse competitive dynamics and internal performance to inform strategy.

  • Drive investment evaluation frameworks to guide decisions on new products, markets, and initiatives.

Projects & Initiatives

  • Lead FP&A transformation to scale reporting, forecasting, and planning capabilities.

  • Benchmark Depop’s financial performance against industry leaders to ensure competitiveness.

Requirements:

  • CIMA/ACA qualified (or equivalent).

  • Significant experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, with proven impact in e-commerce, marketplace, or high-growth scale-up environments.

  • Track record of shaping financial strategies and influencing at the executive level.

  • Advanced expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and investment evaluation, with the ability to simplify complexity into actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement financial frameworks that scale with the business.

  • Exceptional analytical and data interpretation skills; proficiency with tools such as Excel, Looker (SQL, Planful or ERP systems a plus).

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence at all levels, including C-suite and board.

  • Strong leadership presence: able to set direction, challenge assumptions, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, anticipate challenges, and solve complex problems.

  • Experience leading cross-functional, company-wide initiatives and managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
