CB4, part of the world-leading retail Gap Inc., is looking for a top-talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our core R&D team!
In this hands-on role, you will design and implement robust backend components, contribute to the development of complex features in a data-driven environment, and serve as a professional anchor within the team.
You'll work closely with other engineers and teams to ensure scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend components and infrastructure
- Develop advanced features and services in a distributed, cloud-based environment
- Collaborate with other engineers and provide guidance when needed
- Work with cross-functional teams on system integrations and API development
- Contribute to the evolution of the system architecture and data flows
- 8+ years of experience as a senior backend/server/infrastructure engineer – must
- Hands-on experience with Java in high-volume, multithreaded, cloud-based environments – must
- Experience with microservices architecture and REST API development
- Background in Big Data technologies, data pipelines, and/or data lake implementation
- Strong understanding of OOP/OOD principles – must
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and methodologies
- Experience working with cloud platforms – Google Cloud is an advantage
- Proven ability to mentor and support other developers
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- High level of independence and accountability
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
