Job Summary

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join Cazoo as a Management Accountant, in London, helping to build the UK’s best car buying experience.

You'll be working as part of our Finance team reporting to our Finance Manager with responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts complete with variance analysis and commentary, for the quality and integrity of a suite of balance sheet reconciliations and for the provision of ongoing support and advice to the wider business. This role predominantly sits within our wholesale division; overseeing the financials of Cazoo’s auction platform.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including timely ledger posting of month end journals.
  • Review and approval of peer journals and reconciliations;
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Accounting process;
  • Ensure Revenue is reported accurately and in a timely manner; with consideration to cancelled sales and returns.
  • Report on the sales of Cazoo vehicles through auction, as well as third party vendors
  • Handling the transactions around “Buy-backs” (Cars purchased back by CD Auctions due to an unstated issue) and reporting on these effectively.
  • Ensure that all variances are understood and deliver insightful commentary
  • Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed/reviewed to agreed deadlines with all reconciling and unsubstantiated items investigated and resolved promptly
  • Ongoing improvement of month end process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Preparation of deliverables for the interim, annual and half year audits
  • Provide support to the FP&A team in budget/forecast preparation
  • Work closely with transactional teams to deliver end-to-end process efficiency and compliance
  • Ensure vendor payments are paid within the agreed timeframe by working closely with the Accounts Payable function.
  • Maintain the Bank Reconciliations of the Auction client account – monitoring cash balances closely and suggesting intercompany funding where required
  • Provide support to non-financial departmental heads with financial information when required
  • Assist with Ad-hoc reporting requests
