The role
Biofidelity is looking for an experienced Data Scientist/Senior Data Scientist to join our data science team. In this role you will design, develop and implement statistical and machine learning methods to draw actionable insights from molecular biology datasets generated by our ASPYRE technology. You will work alongside colleagues from cross-functional teams to develop Biofidelity’s products. This role reports to the Principal Data Scientist.
Key responsibilities:
● Develop and evaluate novel statistical and machine learning methods for the analysis of custom molecular biology datasets, including Biofidelity’s proprietary ASPYRE technology
● Work closely with technology development, product development, clinical and operations teams to design experiments, conduct statistical analyses, and provide insights to help drive improvements of our technology
● Communicate analysis results and implications clearly across the company, including to non-technical colleagues
● Work with software developers and quality teams to implement code in line with Biofidelity’s software development procedures and in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Strong background in mathematics and statistics
● Experience in the development of statistical and machine learning methods, techniques and tools
● Fluency in statistical programming (preferably using Python)
● Experience in life sciences and working with biological data (preferred)
● Ability to understand molecular biology concepts, apply this knowledge when building models and interpret results
● Curious, proactive and problem-solving mindset with an attention to detail
● Clear communicator, with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
● Familiarity with good software engineering practice and tools (Jira, Git)
● Knowledge of software development and quality assurance such as ISO 13485, EN 62304, ISO 27001 (desired)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
● PhD or equivalent level of relevant industry experience in Statistics/Biostatistics/Mathematics or a related discipline
● Previous industry experience in life sciences in a similar role (desired)
