About the Team
You will be part of a collaborative global legal function that works closely with colleagues across product, sales, finance, marketing, compliance, and other business areas. The legal team supports the business across a broad range of activities, including product development, customer engagement, and other strategic initiatives. Together, the team helps the organization pursue growth opportunities while maintaining strong standards of integrity, compliance, and risk management.
About the Role
The Associate Corporate Counsel position supports the Business Services and Government business units within Risk Solutions by assisting with legal review and day-to-day business matters across commercial, regulatory, and product areas. This role is well suited for a legal professional who is building a strong foundation in commercial practice and is eager to broaden their experience in an in-house environment. In this role, you will draft, review, and support the negotiation of a wide range of agreements; collaborate with cross-functional teams on day-to-day legal questions; and support product, compliance, and business initiatives. The position offers meaningful exposure to experienced in-house counsel, the flexibility of a fully remote environment, and the opportunity to develop your career in a collaborative setting without the billable hour demands often associated with private practice.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and help negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS, licensing, reseller, and services agreements, with guidance from senior counsel as needed.
- Assist with maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and clause libraries to support efficient and consistent legal review.
- Support the sales and business teams by helping review legal requests, preparing agreement summaries, and assisting with contract execution workflows.
- Conduct legal research and issue spotting on regulatory, privacy, and product-related questions, and help prepare practical guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support alignment of commercial terms with legal standards and business needs.
- Assist with legal support for product launches, compliance initiatives, and other business projects by gathering information, reviewing materials, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Help support legal operations and risk management processes, including tracking requests, organizing documentation, and assisting with team training or contract management efforts.
- Respond to day-to-day legal and contract-related questions from internal teams, escalating more complex issues when appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline legal workflows and improve team resources.
- Support departmental efficiency by assisting with administrative and reporting processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent law degree required; licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 1–3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, clerkship, or corporate legal department, with exposure to commercial contracts or general business matters preferred.
- Strong legal drafting, research, and issue-spotting skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and practically with business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, stay organized, and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Interest in developing broad-based in-house legal experience across commercial, product, compliance, and operational matters.
