We are looking for a motivated student (m/f/d) to join our Gas Quantitative team in Karlsruhe. The internship duration is 6 months.

About the Role

As part of the Gas Quantitative team, you will contribute to the development of our European gas market analytics with a focus on:

  • Data-driven insights

  • Trading behaviour research

  • fundamental market modelling.

You will work closely with experienced analysts to design analytical tools, manage large datasets, and support the quantitative understanding of key gas market dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data analytics and visualization tools on our platform (e.g. market indicators, price forecasting models)

  • Support key projects with data handling and programming tasks (e.g., supply-demand models and gas flow analysis)

  • Conduct research on trading behaviour and patterns in European gas markets

Requirements:

  • Valid enrolment certificate for the entire internship period

  • Programming experience is required in Python and SQL

  • Mathematical background in optimization, operations research or related fields.

  • Strong communication and writing skills in English is a requirement

  • Comfortable handling and visualizing large data sets

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, enjoys working in a team, takes initiatives

  • Interest in energy markets, particularly in European gas trading and infrastructure

  • Bachelor or master’s in industrial, financial, data engineering or comparable fields of study
