About the Team
The Insurance and Healthcare Global Communications team leads external communications strategy across markets and channels, supporting the organization’s brand, products and services. The team partners closely with marketing, business leaders, and external agencies to deliver consistent, market-led messaging that builds awareness, understanding, and trust among key stakeholders, including media, customers, influencers and analysts.
About the Role
The Communications Manager plays a key role in shaping and executing external communications strategies for the Insurance business. This position is responsible for developing and delivering clear, compelling messaging that supports corporate and business objectives in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment. The role contributes to the overall communications strategy by driving market-led plans, supporting reputation management and ensuring consistent messaging across geographies and audiences. Success in this role requires strong storytelling capabilities, project management discipline and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute external communications strategies and plans aligned with business, marketing, and functional objectives
Create and deliver messaging for media, customer-facing employees, influencers and analysts to support brand awareness and preference
Partner with global agencies and cross-functional teams to plan, prepare and disseminate communications materials
Manage media and analyst engagement, including message development, briefing materials and ongoing relationship support
Translate complex or raw information into audience-appropriate stories across channels and formats
Support integrated and omnichannel marketing initiatives by aligning communications efforts with broader campaigns
Measure and analyze communications effectiveness using media coverage and performance metrics
Provide recommendations and guidance to support social media strategy in collaboration with the Social Media Manager
Ensure consistency with enterprise messaging, corporate branding standards and communications policies
Contribute to functional strategy by sharing best practices, insights and market perspectives
Manage agency partners, project timelines, and deliverables to ensure results are achieved within scope and deadlines
Navigate fast-changing business and regulatory environments with sound judgment and professionalism
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or a related field (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 6 years of experience in communications, public relations, integrated marketing communications or journalism
Experience working within or managing agency partners with a demonstrated ability to deliver measurable results
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
Experience developing content for diverse audiences and channels using storytelling best practices
Knowledge of integrated and omnichannel marketing disciplines and the role of communications in achieving business outcomes
Experience using media monitoring and measurement tools to evaluate impact
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Social media experience with the ability to provide strategic recommendations
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proven business acumen with the ability to interpret internal and external challenges and recommend communications solutions
Experience collaborating across functions and geographies in a matrixed organization
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and experience handling sensitive or confidential information
Ability to think both strategically and analytically, work independently and solve complex problems
Insurance, financial services, automotive or technology industry experience preferred
Global and/or analyst relations experience preferred
