Job Description:

We are currently growing our Product Management Operations practice. This team is responsible for identifying opportunities for operational improvement within the Financial Crime and Compliance and payments domain (FCCP). We are responsible for building prototypes, running proof of concept initiatives and ultimately de-risk and accelerate product build for successful concepts. All work is carried out through collaboration across functions, disciplines, and locations.

Responsibilities:

As a Lead Product Manager, Innovation/Product Ops, you will be responsible for the design of the required tooling and infrastructure for the Product Ops team and lead the coordination of multiple teams in funding the build. Identifying and/or leading the management team for ongoing support and maintenance of the delivery program will be required as well. In addition to leading the infrastructure design and build, the role will also be required to run and support innovation for the FCCP portfolio of products - discovering unmet needs, identifying, and validating hypothesis, sizing commercial opportunities, and working with our product and technology teams to shape, position and launch software and data products.

The main elements to be included within the infrastructure design will be (at a minimum):

  • Design, funding and build of an experimentation environment architecture, focussing on: internal, on-demand environments for working on customer data; an environment for co-creating with customers; a pre-sales demonstration environment with customer data; and the underlying platform of support

  • Database/lake build and maintenance for storing customer data (PII scrubbed or otherwise), new data sets and existing data asset access controls, compliant with InfoSec and Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE)

In addition to the above, it is expected that the role supports the other members of the FCCP Innovation/Product Ops Team on Tooling build, covering the IdeaStore (management of innovation ideas and discovery topics), the Customer360 (single point for monitoring all customer data points) and the interfaces of all relevant tooling.

Responsible for defining, estimating, and executing experiments for taking new features and products to market. Leverage metrics to track progress and ensure efforts move those metrics.

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across market planning, pre-sales, sales, marketing, and professional services departments. Communicate effectively, plans, successes, and failures.

Create and manage initiatives without direct supervision, involve senior leaders only when required. Drive solution design for complicated challenges and collaborate across technology, data, data science and analytics teams.

Create processes that help manage initiatives and coach team members to drive product discipline.

Profile

  • Degree educated with strong analytical skills, recognised as an innovative thinker

  • Strong English communication skills, including presentations; proficiency in multiple languages is a plus

  • Self-starter, self-motivated and results-oriented, curious and keen to learn and develop new ideas, skills but able to work autonomously

  • Effectively prioritise, identify, and analyse problems and propose solutions

  • Collaborative, team player, and able to work in a flexible, hyper-agile context

  • Experience in Banking, Insurance, FinTech or RegTech sectors is a plus

10+ years of Product Management or related experience

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Technology Coordinate and manage technology delivery teams

  • Finance Draft and implement funding strategies

  • Market – Understand the existing and potential customer base and their needs, review competitive threats and assess product opportunities. Define customer segments. Keeps up to date on news/incidents and understands what is happening in the market and with competitors.

  • Business – Demonstrate the commercial viability of current and future products to deliver profitable solutions to recognised market needs.

  • Strategy – Creating or helping in developing a product roadmap to meet the customers’ needs and the company’s growth strategy.

  • Planning – Specify the requirements for product success with the use of client/user personas and workflows. Position the product in the market around the attributes that are valuable to our customers. Collaborate with the Technical Product Manager role to define user experience and features as buildable software.

  • Programs – Create go-to-market programs aligned with the customer and business needs.

  • Readiness – Ensure the organisation’s ability to sell and support the company’s products including pricing strategy and usage data analysis.

  • Support – Support the sales teams with market and product expertise.

  • Succession – Coordinating the appropriate decommission and replacement product strategy if/when required

Skills / Experience Required:

  • This is predominantly an internal team facing role, requiring the ability to communicate and coordinate multiple teams towards a common goal

  • Business planning and/or project management is essential.

  • Balancing a complex and varied workload requires a self-motivated and highly organised individual

  • Familiar with and can use customer frameworks (e.g. Jobs To Be Done, personas).

  • Working with different departments everyday including sales and marketing, industry experts and IT departments requires an articulate and engaging communicator.

Critical Experiences:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others to modify or maintain a product and identify technology challenges.

  • Demonstrated readiness to engage in customer engagements.
