We're looking for Solutions Engineer (SE) whose mission is to be As a Solutions Engineer, you will work alongside Field Applications Scientists (FAS) to liaise with customers and Internal Engineering/Product teams to leverage their Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to help develop new and novel solutions.

We are currently experiencing increased demand for lab automation, as well as the testing of new tools to further empower scientists.

You will be responsible for:

• Situated within the commercial team, you will assist in the technical win of projects by liaising between internal teams and the customer to ensure the correct interpretation of scientific protocols and workflows within the LINQ platform.

• Take initial design concepts from the FAS and develop them into more complete designs.

• Design system solutions in CAD software (Onshape).

• High-level prototype custom solutions and parts for within systems.

• Design and build workflows in the Python SDK.

• Compose and present product and software demonstrations for prospective customers.

• Assist with RFI/RFP requests to provide polished, well-thought answers to customer questions.

• Provide logistics studies of customer protocols and processes.

• Identify potential limitations of projects and coordinate solutions with relevant stakeholders.

• Lead solution design discussions and customer workshops to clearly define customer specifications.

• Successfully manage multiple customer projects concurrently.

• Contribute to the writing of User Requirement Specifications (URS) for projects.

• Continually evaluate internal processes to optimise workflows.

• Responsible for going to trade shows, on-site customer visits and international travel 15% of the time (with notice).

  What it takes:

  • Practical experience working on large-scale Engineering projects, in particular system design (CAD), estates and deployment.

  • Ability to work independently and interdependently across diverse groups inside/outside the organisation.

  • Ability to work in situations with high levels of uncertainty.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • High level of commitment, initiative and willingness to learn new skills.

  • Competency in Python.

  • BE, BEng or similar with 2-3+ years of experience in a relevant field.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in the life sciences industry/liquid handling automation.

• Previous experience in customer-facing positions.

• Project Management experience.

• Understanding of automation and robotic systems.
