Automata is building a world-class company to disrupt the life science industry and empower scientists by making automation a reality for every lab.

We work with labs across the world to understand their specific workflows and needs and develop personalised solutions that range from diagnostic, and drug discovery to synthetic biology. Our LINQ platform allows us to simplify everyday automation tasks, while supporting more advanced paths for specialised workflows, in a fast, flexible, and cost-efficient way.

We are looking for a Hardware Delivery Engineer whose mission is to Manage and deliver products within hardware roadmap and ensure products provide maximum value for our customers within our LINQ System. You will work within Automata's hardware engineering team and engage internally with product, design and procurement and externally with our suppliers to deliver our hardware solutions to scope, to time and to cost.

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and requirements. Assess the impact of changes on project deliverables and effectively communicate adjustments to stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Implement quality control processes and standards with the supplier to ensure that hardware products meet regulatory requirements, performance metrics, and customer expectations.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement throughout the product development lifecycle. Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation in hardware delivery processes

  • Provide technical oversight and scrutiny of the products being delivered within the business and support technical queries within the wider hardware team as required.

What it takes:

  • Proven experience in project management and delivery of hardware products, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and suppliers.
